| Child safety in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre |

Blanchardstown Shopping Centre have introduced a really good scheme to help parents find their kids when they lose them while they're shopping.
First off, they have some system to hook parents up with the CCTV room. But something much simpler, and probably more practical is that they give out armbands for kids that Mammy or Daddy can put their mobile number on. Simple idea, but a good one.
If anyone has ever lost (or found) a toddler in a place like Blanch, they'll appreciate how good an idea this is. |

| I think the use of armbands with parents mobile no.on it is an excellent idea. I lost my son then aged 4yrs a number of years ago. The panick I felt still lives with me to this day. he was missing for about 15mins but happily I found him with the help of security guards. But I also feel the some parents might become too complacent. An armband wont stop a pervert from taking your child. We can't be too careful in this day and age with our children. |
