Sessional Preschool in Balbriggan
Sunbeams playschool offers sessional care Monday-Friday from 9.15am to 12 noon in Balbriggan, catering for children aged from 2 1/2 years to 5 years old.
We are conveniently located in the centre of Balbriggan, at 6 Fulham Street (the strret directly facing the front of St Peter and Paul's Junior National School on Chapel Street)
We believe in the importance of play as a valuable learning tool for young children and we aim to provide a safe, caring and enjoyable environment which promotes and provides for all areas of children's development.
We offer a wide,varied and structured programme including arts and crafts, music and dance, story-telling, dressing up,playdough, sand and water play , physical education and nature.
We also teach things like colours, shapes, numbers, concepts such as "above and below" etc.
Themes we cover include all about me, the seasons, weather, water, animals, health and nutrition, the lifecycle of a caterpillar/butterfly, gardening and fruit and vegetables.
We are a member of the IPPA (Irish Preschools and Playgroups Association), and are notified to, registered with and passed by the Health Service Executive (formerly the Health Board).
We are a small playschool with a maximum of 12 children attending and we maintain a high staff to child ratio of at least 2:12.
All our staff are Fetac/IPPA qualified in childcare and hold valid Paediatric first aid certificates.

Hi, due to expansion, we have a few places available for Sept 2009.

We have registered for the new free preschool scheme (ECCE) and will be offering this to qualified children from Jan 2010 onwards.

Sunbeams Playschool UPDATE

Our opening hours are now from 9am-12 Monday to Friday

We are participating in the new free preschool scheme (ECCE) with a year's free preschool from Sept 2010 available to children born between 02/02/06 and 30/06/07.

Children born between 02/02/07 and 30/06/08 will be eligible for a free preschool year from Sept 2011.

Our morning class is currently full for Sept 2010 but we will add names to our waiting list in case of cancellations. We will update here if any places become available.

If there is sufficient demand we intend to run a new afternoon class from 12.30- 3.30pm starting from Sept 2010.

We have a limited number of places still available for Sept 2011.

All classes are availble to both ECCE qualifying and non-qualifying children.
